my first time hosting a styled shoot.
this was the first styled shoot i put together and i quickly learned it would not be my last as i immediately fell in love with the process of working with so many other small businesses.
i had known i wanted to do a styled shoot for awhile but didn't know if i could pull it off. so for this to come together as beautifully and perfectly as it did with little to no bumps or hiccups, i couldn’t be more proud.
as a female owned business myself, i knew i wanted to include as many diverse small businesses as i could and am super super proud of the group of people that came together. the final vendor list was not only ALL female owned businesses, but also included business owners who identify as women of color, indigenous, ukrainian, and ecuadorian. this list of small businesses included mostly local businesses but also included international small businesses.
our dress provider is from illinois, our jewelry provider is from unceded algonquin territory in ontario, and our stationery provider is from missouri and she handmade our stationery on a printing press over a 100 years old.
i am extremely proud to not only include but also get to know so many strong and successful women.
thank you to every single person who helped make this happen, the people near and far who shipped packages or traveled to location, the people who took time out of their busy lives to create art and magic with me. thank you.
and of course a special thank you to em and sam for going to soho with me, steaming suit pants, and tolerating our apartment looking like a storage unit for a few weeks in advance of this shoot.
