alexa + silvio | manhattan engagement
in love on a fall day in nyc. what can be better?
i had previously been in contact with alexa through instagram since she is also a long island photographer. i wanted to do a photoshoot in the beautiful brownstones on the upper west side of nyc but since i hadn’t done a session there before, i wanted to do a model call for it.
with just one post to my instagram story looking for a couple, alexa reached out saying her and her fiance, silvio, would be ready and willing to join in for the shoot.
alexa and silvio have been together for over 9 years and are soon to be married. the length of this relationship became evident once i met them when they quite literally finished each other’s thoughts and just giggled with each other the whole time. the love between the two of them was palpable.
we began the shoot with cookies and hot chocolates from levain bakery. after that, we simply strolled through the streets for an hour. we sat on building stoops and danced in the street. we chatted, we laughed and we skipped down the sidewalks.
nothing spectacular or outstanding, but nothing short of poetic.
